About Kylie Sturgess
Kylie Sturgess is a Philosophy teacher, award-winning podcaster and presenter at Perth community radio station RTRFM. The radio show/podcast Talk the Talk won the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) 2018 Best Radio Program in the Talks category - the award recognises an outstanding talks or spoken word program.
She currently teaches radio courses at a university in Perth, Western Australia, while completing a PhD in podcasting and education.
Kylie investigates and reports on paranormal and pseudoscientific topics and how they intersect with popular culture. She blogs at Patheos, the academia, popular media, and faith website, on the blog "Token Skeptic".
Kylie has lectured on teaching critical thinking, feminism, new media and anomalistic beliefs worldwide. In 2010 and 2012 she was the MC of the Global Atheist Conventions, and more recently has lectured at the New Zealand Skeptics Conference and the World Skeptics Congress in Berlin on science communication and skepticism.
In 2011, she published a book of podcast transcripts, "The Scope of Skepticism" and was awarded the Skeptic Magazine's Ockham Award for best podcast that year. Other projects include the 365 Days of Philosophy site, social media coordinator for IFLSLive in Sydney and social media wrangler and science blogger for ScienceRewired.
